Updated: March 20, 2020

As the unprecedented COVID-19 public health crisis continues to unfold, Asian Counseling and Referral Service (ACRS) continues to focus its highest priority on the health and wellbeing of staff and clients as our leadership team evaluates and implements the most current recommendations by the Centers for Disease Control and Seattle King County Public Health.

Following new mandates and guidelines by the governor, county executives, and public health officials and plans by local school districts, ACRS is extending the closure of its Seattle, Bellevue, and Kent facilities through April 27. During this time, ACRS will continue to provide only limited essential services and serve clients with the most urgent and critical needs. Clients directly impacted by the closure are being contacted by ACRS staff. For general information, call the ACRS main line at 206-695-7600 or email info@acrs.org.

At this time, all ACRS programs and events are suspended with limited exceptions noted above. These are preventative measures to minimize any health risks and to ensure the safety of our staff and clients during the COVID-19 outbreak.

We urge clients experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 to please call their health care provider and the King County Novel Coronavirus hotline at (206) 477-3977. Symptoms include a cough, fever, shortness of breath and/or other respiratory issues. This disease is highly contagious. For the safety of our clients, staff and the community, protect yourselves with thorough handwashing, coughing into a tissue or your elbow, avoiding touching your eyes, nose, and mouth, and cleaning frequently touched surfaces. Clients in close contact with someone who is sick (including someone who is confirmed positive for COVID-19 or exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19) are urged to remain at home and contact their health care provider.

Clients are urged to stay home if they also fit one of the following criteria:

  • Are age 60 and older
  • Have underlying health conditions, including heart disease, lung disease or diabetes
  • Have weakened immune systems
  • Are pregnant
