ACRS offering limited critical services through March 15
Asian Counseling and Referral Service (ACRS) is committed to keeping staff and clients informed as we take proactive steps to respond to the presence of the coronavirus disease, or COVID-19, in the greater community. The health and safety of our staff and clients is our #1 priority as we navigate these unprecedented times. Our leadership team is meeting daily to evaluate and decide next steps while following the CDC guidelines and King County’s most current recommendations.
Out of an abundance of caution, ACRS is closing its Bellevue, Kent and Seattle main offices at least through March 15 for thorough deep cleanings of all three locations. During this time, ACRS will be providing limited essential services and will continue to serve clients with the most urgent and critical needs. Clients affected by the closure will be contacted directly by ACRS staff. For general information, call the ACRS main line at 206-695-7600 or email info@acrs.org.
Although we are currently unaware of any positive tests for COVID-19 among our staff and clients, we do know an employee has had exposure to someone who tested positive for COVID-19, and we want to ensure we take the necessary precautions to protect our community. The individual was not in direct contact with clients. For now, ACRS programs and events have been suspended with some limited exceptions noted above. Following the latest recommendations by local health officials, these are temporary preventative measures to minimize any health risks and to ensure the safety of our staff and clients.
We urge clients experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 to please call their health care provider and the King County Novel Coronavirus hotline at (206) 477-3977. For the most up-to-date information, you can visit the Seattle King County Public Health website or call the Washington State Department of Health COVID-19 hotline at 1-800-525-0127, press #. Symptoms include a cough, fever, shortness of breath and/or other respiratory issues. This disease is highly contagious. For the safety of our clients, staff and the community, protect yourselves with thorough handwashing, coughing into a tissue or your elbow, avoiding touching your eyes, nose, and mouth, and cleaning frequently touched surfaces.
Please visit our website frequently and follow us on Facebook or Twitter for any new information and updates.
